Born 1960 in Boston, Massachusetts, Sharon Micheal was greatly influenced by the contrasting beauty of her surroundings. Early on, she developed an appreciation for both the city and the sea. Her unique imagery and color use was recognized at an early age, which encouraged her to continue the journey as an artist.
Sharon Micheal's love of travel has been an integral element in the development and direction of her art. She has combined her observations of various landscapes, architectural styles and cultures to her work. Her paintings reflect the mystical sensuality of life and nature.
Sharon Micheal currently resides in Chicago with her family. She is a full-time artist, painting for exhibitions and commissions. Her paintings have been exhibited throughout the United States, and have been published in books such as New Art International.
Her mastery of contour, color and shape are blended together to create powerful compositions. She is an exciting artist who is continually exploring life on canvas.
Artist's Statement
My paintings are a world of rhythmic forms, which take on their own language. Images play with nature and movement infused with the power of color, light and my imagination. The paintings I create are a reflection of me, colorful, spirited and imbued with a zest for life.
Painting will forever be my true communicator.
